In life, Cal Bixby was the head bartender aboard the luxurious cruise liner The Elysium. To most passengers, he was simply the life of the party — quick with a joke, dazzling with his cocktail flair, and always knowing just the right drink to soothe a broken heart or spark a romance. But behind the bar, he carried a secret obsession: the pursuit of the Elixir of Eternity.

He studied alchemy disguised as mixology, experimenting with strange herbs, rare spirits, and “ghost ingredients” smuggled from every port. Rumors whispered that some of his cocktails could let you glimpse the dead, recall forgotten memories, or even make time stand still for one fleeting sip.

Then came the storm. On a moonless night, The Elysium struck something unseen in the black water. As the ship began to sink, Cal refused to abandon his bar. Legend says he had just finished perfecting his fateful drink — the elixir he believed would cheat death itself. When the sea swallowed the ship, Cal vanished with it… along with his recipe.

Now, in the afterlife, he’s still behind the bar — forever cursed to serve “spirits” in both senses of the word. He laughs, he flirts, he charms his guests, but behind the sparkle in his eye is the knowledge that every cocktail he mixes might be one step closer to recreating that lost elixir. And perhaps… one day… to breaking his curse.
